Rosemary the sheep

Shirley and Al from the Stationside Cafe in Lauder have kindly created a paddock next to the cafe and now Rosemary (one of their pet sheep) is in residence. It’s a great opportunity for you and the children to get up a bit closer to a symbol of New Zealand if you’re riding the Otago Central Rail Trail. For customers embarking on one of the Connexions packages out of Queenstown or Wanaka, you’ll either end your journey in Lauder or pass it on the way through, so make sure you pay Rosemary a visit.

Carol and rosemary

Here's Carol from shebikeshebikes trying her sheep whispering skills on Rosemary.

Rosemary

Rosemary appears to be more interested in having her photo taken than checking out the cyclist on the Otago Central Rail Trail in the background

We’ll leave the discussions about pedigree etc for you to have with Al and Shirley over a flat white,  a pot of tea or one of Shirleys delicious home made slices.
