Bike Hire
We have a great range of bike hire options available for you (and if you’ve got your own bikes, that’s no problem with us, we’re more than happy to assist you with putting an itinerary together). Our bike hire fleet is split between what we call Comfort bikes and MTB’s (regular mountain bikes). The primary difference is that a comfort bike puts you in a much more upright posture, taking stress off wrists, elbows and shoulders. They’re an excellent choice if you don’t ride a lot or are looking to take it easy.
Our brand of choice for MTB’s now is Merida and we will continue to replace our Rockhoppers as stock becomes available. We’ll continue to make use of the fantastic Specialized Roll comfort bikes.

Specialized Roll

A comfort bike is a great option for anyone that doesn’t ride a lot or who wants to “take it easy” on the trail. With an upright body position on the bike and wide saddle, they’ll help decrease any stress on wrists, elbows shoulders and bottom. This season we will begin transitioning to a totally “step through” fleet of comfort bikes.

“Hook them up” when they get tired. Unhook them when they’re ready to ride again.
Great option if your child is a confident rider but can’t keep up with the family cruising speed.
Tag Along
20″ wheel – 110 – 130cm tall – must be able to ride and balance
Best for riders under 6yrs. In most cases the IGO is the better option
IGO
Recumbent tag along – great for little ones that want to pedal. Harnessed in, they can safely fall asleep while the family pushes on. Suits 96 to 132 cm – Max weight 35kg

Follow Me
The ultimate tag along option for children that ride a 16 or 20 inch bike at home.
Low center of gravity compared to a traditional tag along.
Unclip them on the declines and clip them up on the inclines or if you need to make up some time.
Choose this option if you think you child will not cope with a tow lead.
If your children aren’t quite up to riding the whole way then a “tow option” is the solution. Keep in mind that you can make use of a regular bike and a tow lead so they can have their freedom when they’ve got energy to burn. Another great option is the Tandem if you’re looking for something that caters well for children over 135cm
Each tag along or trailer includes includes
- Helmet
- Puncture repair kit including spare tube

Bike with trunk bag or panniers – $70 / day
Trunk bags
The perfect bag for your day on the trail with more than enough capacity for the gear you’ll need if you’re having your overnight gear transported each day. Remember, pack as lightly as you can because you have to shift the load and you’ll only ever use a fraction of what you pack (isn’t that always the way?!!).
Included in our standard $55 / day bike hire rate
The trunk bag attaches to the rack with Velcro so you can easily detach the bag at the end of the day and take it inside.
With an integrated water bottle holder the trunk bag provides room for an additional water bottle during any hot days where you’d need two water bottles (the other bottle fits into the bottle cage on your bike).
Without even using the zip out sides you can see that you the bag has more than enough capactity for your extra gear. Any clothing you start to take off can fit into the fold out sides.
In the pictured bag we’ve included some essential and non essental items (hmmm is chocolate non-essential?!):
A jacket (this one has some insulation), suncreen, a whole first aid kit, hand sanitiser, wipes/tissues for the DOC toilets, cell phone / camera, Lunch (muesli bar, banana, mandarin, sandwiches), bag of nuts, bag of lollies, king size bar of chocolate, 750ml water bottle and a rain poncho. All of this fits into the centre compartment
Pannier Bags
The majority of our standard pannier bags are Tioga Dry Bags (or similar) as pictured. They have a 54 Litre capacity per pair and a total a maximum weight of 25KG combined (that’s what the pannier racks can handle safely). These are the best option if
- You’re not having your bags transported each day, but remember to pack as lightly as you can as you have to shift the gear.
- They’re also a good option to opt for with a family group – in order to provide some extra capacity for extra clothing for the kids or space for when they take gear off.
